Started by a dog. Validated by a saluki.
SnugHound began, as most good things do, because of a dog.
When I rescued Enola — a saluki cross with long legs, a suspicious nature, and very strong opinions about where she sleeps — I quickly realised that most dog beds weren't built with her in mind. Too small. Too round. Not nearly supportive enough for a dog with the body composition of a supermodel and the joint concerns of a retired athlete.
Finding good bedding for sighthounds meant scrolling through pages of products designed for stocky Labradors, buying things that looked promising and turned out to be wrong, and eventually just accepting that Enola would commandeer the sofa indefinitely.
So I decided to do something about it.
Why SnugHound?
I'm Christoffer, based in Nottingham, and SnugHound is my attempt to build a shop that actually serves the sighthound community — greyhound owners, whippet fans, lurcher lovers, saluki rescuers, and everyone else whose dog is long, lean, and quietly in charge of the household.
Every product we stock is chosen with sighthound anatomy in mind: supportive bases for bony joints, raised bolsters for those long elegant necks, generous sizing for dogs that are taller than they look, and easy-care fabrics for the inevitable mud.
SnugHound is a small operation — just me, a laptop, and Enola supervising from the sofa. That means you'll always get a real person when you get in touch, and someone who genuinely understands what it's like to share a home with a sighthound.
